Product Junkie

Searching for hair products is completely trial and error to me since all hair is different. There may be some instances where products work exactly the same or similarly on different individuals, however I have found my expectations greatly differ from the next. I love for my hair to be manageable, soft, and moisturized so any product that meet these three requirements is added to my “product junkie” cabinet; any that do not are given away or discarded! I have a problem, I know (The first step is admitting it!) During this transition my product search has been renewed as I look for natural products for my transitioning hair; products to assist in “the struggle”.

The use of Shea Moisture’s Dry, Damaged product line. The Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo restores my hair leaving it feeling soft and none the less moisturized. It is a sulfate-free shampoo which does not strip the hair of essential nutrients, however leaves it feeling squeaky clean. Although quite pleased with the shampoo I was quite displeased with the Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque which left my hair feeling stripped of the moisture just supplied by the line’s shampoo. This masque is protein-rich which leaves the hair feeling hard and requires the use of a moisture-rich conditioner following it in order to leave the hair feeling soft once again.

One product has stayed in my regimen which is the CHI Silk Infusion which allows me to protect my hair when blow drying and heat styling, as well as delivers manageable, soft, luxurious hair. CHI Silk Infusion is an alcohol-free reconstructing leave-in, which has pure natural silk, wheat and soy products, ingredients that are great for fortifying one’s hair and for thermal protection. It can be expensive ($13.99-$23.99/6 oz.), however simply love it!
